Lab Results
Send a lab to a patient, then follow it from sent to results, review, and follow-up.
This page shows you how to follow a lab from the moment you send it until the results are handled. It is for Client Staff and Client Admins who work with patients every day.
Before you start
Who does what: You send the lab, track it, and follow up with the patient. Your provider network (the medical team that employs the doctors) reads the results and decides what they mean.
Labs must be turned on for your organization first — here’s how to check: click Labs in the left menu. If you see lab tests listed, labs are on. If the page is empty or shows an approval message, ask your provider network to turn labs on.
Send a lab to a patient
When a patient needs a certain lab, send it straight to them. Do not wait for them to find it in your storefront.
Open the Patients page
In the left menu, click Patients. You see your list of patients.
Find the patient
Find the patient in your list. Click their name to open them.
Invite them to the lab
Click Invite to Lab Test. Pick the lab test you want. Send it. The patient gets a message to buy and book the lab.
Follow the lab from start to finish
A lab order moves through clear stages. You watch these stages on the Orders page.
Sent to Lab
The order is on its way to the lab. If it looks stuck, check two things. Has the patient paid? Is the order on hold? An admin releases held lab orders in Approve Lab Orders.
Results Received
The results are back. On the Orders page, use the status filter Results Received. This finds new results on the day they arrive.
Follow up with the patient
Message the patient about next steps. If the lab has a follow-up product linked to it, that is a natural thing to offer.
Mark it Reviewed
When your follow-up is done, mark the result Reviewed. This tells your team the work is handled, so nobody does it twice.
Do this every day. Check Results Received once a day. Patients judge you by how fast someone reacts to their results.
Your admin sets up follow-up products for each lab in Set Up Labs. If a lab you use has no follow-up product, ask your admin to add one.
